Dimethylformamide is a flammable, colorlessliquid with a fishy, unpleasant, amine-like odor at relativelylow concentrations. It finds particular usage in themanufacture of polyacrylic fibers, butadiene, purified acetylene, pharmaceuticals, dyes, petroleum products, and otherorganic chemicals.
